The new clubhouse was formally opened on Sunday 9th July 2017. The event was attended by donors to the project, members of town organisations and members of the club.

Councillor Vincent FitzPatrick, representing The Big Society Fund of North Norfolk District Council, spoke about the purpose of the fund and expressed his delight at the outcome of the project. He encouraged other organisations to consider applying for grants. Adrian Underwood, chairman of the club, thanked Councillor FitzPatrick for attending the event and asked him to express the thanks of all the members for the grant of £7,500.00 towards the project.

Adrian then introduced Jean Terrington.  Adrian confirmed that Jean had not only been the driving force for the fundraising for the clubhouse but had also been so influential in gaining the funds for the refurbishment of the courts a few years earlier. He confirmed that the club owed Jean a large debt of gratitude for all her work, which is why the committee had unanimously proposed that Jean should be the person to open the new building. After unveiling the plaque, Jean was presented with two clematis plants by Mike Walker, Secretary and Tracey Griffin, Treasurer.

Following the official opening, guests enjoyed homemade canapés (thank you Suzanne, Sara and Tracy) and bubbly.
